Hi! I’m Lourens Linde

I’m a physiotherapist with more than 6 years experience in back and neck care, neurological rehabilitation (i.e. stroke or spinal cord injuries), rehabilitation for muscle and bone injuries, vocational rehabilitation and pain management.

I’m registered to practice in South Africa and I’m currently based in Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape.

While the COVID-19 pandemic is throwing the whole world into disarray, telehealth physiotherapy can still assist those people who need help, but cannot venture outside. This has the happy side-effect of helping to flatten the curve by promoting physical distancing.

Teletherapy is when therapy services are provided where the patient and the health care professional are not in close proximity. This is usually done through formats like a video or telephone call.

This is suitable for a range of conditions like simple neck and back pain, post-surgical recovery and rehabilitation of some muscle or ligament injuries.

Should it be determined during your assessment that your condition is too complex for a teletherapy session you will need to be referred to a local physiotherapist who can do a full physical assessment.

In these cases I will provide a full referral for you to take to your local physiotherapist.

How does it work?

For a video consultation you will need a good internet connection and access to a computer or a smartphone with a camera and a microphone.

Telephonic consultations require that you have good cellular reception. Calls can be made over the cellular network or via WhatsApp voice.
